FrogBlock

Overview
Frogblock is a relaxing indie puzzle game where players control a cute frog in a tranquil, abstract world. With its beautiful, calming art style and clever game mechanics and level design, the game offers a peaceful yet mentally engaging experience that stands out conceptually, visually and sonically. It's unique core game mechanic helps it to stand apart from competition in the indie game space.
I was brought on as the composer and sound designer for this game- you can check out my work here - and stepped in as the lead marketing strategist to assist with early marketing efforts including branding, and content strategy.
To start, I helping the team create a unified visual and tonal identity that matched the game's relaxing and playful gameplay. We focused most of our content primarily on X due to the strong indie game presence on the platform, and created short videos that showcased the game's beautiful art style and unique gameplay mechanics. Our strategy combined consistent updates on new game mechanics with trend-based posts that tapped into ongoing conversations in the indie game space.

In addition to the main content strategy, we also implemented a team-based appraoch, where each member created their own account to share updates and behind-the-scenes content related to their role. For example, I launched a personal account where I post videos relating to the music and sound creation. The thought behind this strategy was to attract a broader audience by showcasing each member's unique skills, while bringing people back to the game as the main focus. We also aimed to create more intimate connections with community members who were curious about specific aspects of the game's development—giving them a sense that they were part of the game's creation process.
As we share content on our individual accounts, the main FrogBlock account reposts it, acting as a central hub for all things related to the game.

So far, our content strategy has helped us build a growing presence on X, with 1,000 followers, over 270,000 total post views, 7,000 likes, 700 reposts, and 150 comments. Our most effective tactic has been showcasing new gameplay mechanics with videos of gameplay on the main account, along with reposting to trends in the indie game community.
Our next goal is to reach 5,000 followers on X by the release of the game (August 2025), expanding our strategy to post more frequently, highlighting the game's already existing features and environments to give players a visual preview of what the game will look like in it's entirety. This is been a fun challenge so far, and I'm excited to continue pushing for
